The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the team access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
